Midwifery, on the other hand, has become a regulated medical profession in most places. 

Unlike other birth programs, The RBK school does not teach medical interventions whatsoever. Our approach to birth is rooted in the wise woman tradition which pre-dates the industrial takeover of childbirth.

In order to legally call yourself a midwife, in most areas, you must complete what consists of the equivalent of a four-year university degree.

We focus a significant portion of our curriculum on discussing and exploring the legalities of birth work, and a key component of our approach is to support our students in interpreting and comprehending the legal parameters and restrictions that may exist where they live, and learning how to navigate those parameters with awareness. Countless of our graduates have, upon completing the program started successful businesses in the areas of not only birth-work specifically, but coaching, community building, postpartum support, fertility awareness, and many other birth adjacent fields.

RBK is an 8 week program, consisting of video lectures, a community forum, and live mentorship integration sessions with a Radical Birth Keeper School Graduate. The information and teachings are presented with clarity in a digestible format with the goal of giving you the essential knowledge, confidence, and direction as you step into the Sovereign Birth Paradigm. The MatriBirth Midwifery Institute program, on the other hand, is a full year long immersion, supported by 5 guest teachers in addition to Emilee & Yolande’s tutelage. Throughout the year-long journey, students travel through the program in a small pod with 9 other students and a mentor. MMI is a high touch experience, and tuition is $12,000. While both include some of the same foundational teachings, RBK is for the woman looking for an introductory initiation to birth-work, while MMI is a fully immersive year long mentorship and business school that will prepare you intellectually, practically, and spiritually, to take your place in the world of birth.
